Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Responsible for generating sales of all company
products to potential assigned customers
- Classifies all assigned accounts to ensure proper
pricing levels
- Responsible for compiling lists of prospective
customers for use as sales leads, based on
information from newspapers, business
directories and other sources
- Travel throughout assigned territory to call on
regular and prospective customers to solicit
orders or talk with customers by phone
- Gather data and information regarding customer
acceptance of new products and customer
satisfaction
- Develop a marketing plan to attain budgeted sales in
assigned territory/customer base
- Coordinate activities with inside salespeople to
ensure quality service that will satisfy the
customer
- Responsible for assisting in customer training
- Display or demonstrate product, using samples or
catalog and emphasize salable features
- Quote prices and credit terms and prepare sales
contracts for orders obtained
- Estimate date of delivery to customer, based on
knowledge of own firm's delivery schedules
- Prepare reports of business transactions and keep
expense accounts
Credentials / Knowledge / Skills Preferred
- Bachelors degree or one to two years related
experience required
- Must possess the ability to read, analyze and
interpret general business periodicals,
technical procedures, or governmental
regulations
- Must be able to write reports, business correspondence
and procedure manuals
- Strong mathematical skills and reasoning ability
required
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
required
- General knowledge of hydraulics and heavy-duty truck
part industry required
