Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Provide direction and leadership to Region field sales
staff to manage and execute Region/Corporate
sales strategies and tactics
- Analyze and determine opportunities for sales and
margin growth within the region
- Develop sales plans, business plans, sales strategies
and action plans for identified targets of
opportunity
- Initiate, lead and direct the Region new business
pre-proposal efforts
- Participate in the annual planning and budgeting
process
- Establish objectives governing the sales performance
of the Region and assign specific sales
objectives to members of the sales team
- Increase sales volume through direct sales efforts and
by assisting the sales team in the field
- Develop written policies and procedures for sales
staff
- Coordinate with Group and Corporate staff in working
toward the common goals of the sales department
and developing and implementing ongoing sales
efforts
- Direct, monitor and regularly review and appraise the
performance of Sales Managers and Business
Development Managers
- Identify training needs, initiate development of
subordinates and recommend effective personnel
action
- Assure that positive employee relations are maintained
- Lead the preparation and presentation of regional
materials used in periodic Group or Corporate
sales and management meetings
Credentials / Knowledge / Skills Preferred
- BS/BA degree in Business Administration or Management
required
- Three to five years of management experience required
- Must possess excellent leadership and supervisory
skills
- Progressively responsible business experience in
general management concepts such as planning,
budgeting and forecasting
- Must possess a proven track record of significant
sales accomplishments and closure on new
accounts
- Excellent oral and written communication and
interpersonal skills
- Must have demonstrated analytical and organizational
skills
- Ability to recruit, train, and motivate personnel in
order to balance staffing strength with
profitability and growth
