Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Responsible for overseeing the sales activity of the
hospital and managed care sales personnel
assigned to each division
- Gather information and hospital sales statistics from
each distribution center for developing
regional reports to be shared with each
location and provided to the corporation
- Serve as the key contact for Group Purchasing
Organizations within the region relative to
potential new business opportunities
- Provide for coordinated efforts in continuing the
development of sales methods outlined in the
P.S.S. training program, and ensure that
follow-up to the training programs is complete
- Provide for training resources targeted toward
assessment of current needs of sales personnel
and employ methods to address those needs to
develop field sales personnel
- Coordinate activities of different divisions to
develop a regional approach to key hospital
account activity
- Provide analysis of reports of sales results and
provide recommendations to each location within
the region for procedural improvements,
forecasts and budgets
- Serve as a staff resource for regional management team
in all hospital and managed care sales areas,
and must participate in regional meetings
representing hospital and managed care sales
priorities from all locations
- Serve as a liaison between all levels of the company
regarding hospital and managed care sales
concerns and will provide a bridge for
communications with all locations and the
region.
Credentials / Knowledge / Skills Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related area
- Six to ten years of progressively responsible sales
experience
- Must have extensive experience in dealing with
pharmacy customers in a hospital or managed
care setting
- Experience in management at a senior level with new
business development planning, budgeting and
forecasting
- Must possess excellent oral presentation and
communications skills
- Must have demonstrated organizational and analytical
skills
