Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sales strategies to maximize
territory coverage, including expansion into
selected new markets
- Responsible for interpreting and evaluating
performance of sales representatives
- Oversee participation in the local and corporate sales
training program - develop methods for support
and improvement of sales personnel in
accordance with the training
- Coordinate matters of mutual interest with senior
staff functions including: Hospital/Managed
Care, Operations, MIS, Human Resources and
Finance
- Develop and administer field policies and procedures
including: field compensation, sales action
plans, expense budgets, sales policies,
territory management, competitive pricing
quotation and order analysis
- Responsible for analyzing reports and preparing
recommendations as to policy or procedural
improvements, forecasts and project operating
budgets
- Develop a quarterly and annual sales forecast by
territory
- Promote and maintain the highest possible customer
relationship and satisfaction through company
sales representatives
- Attract, recruit, interview, hire, motivate and retain
a highly qualified and effective sales force
Credentials / Knowledge / Skills Preferred
- Four-year degree in marketing or related area
- Extensive experience dealing with retail customers,
preferably in the pharmaceutical field
- Experience in general management concepts - planning,
budgeting, and forecasting
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication
skills
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and analytical
skills required
- Must possess the ability to recruit, train and
motivate sales personnel
