Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities                                                                 - Develop new hair color products that outperform   current industry standards - Responsible for performing special research projects   assigned by the Hair Color Manager - Assist in the laboratory efforts of less experienced   hair color staff - Responsible for preparing accurate well-written   manufacturing SOPs for hair color products,   including the assistance of developing   analytical methods, process, and finished   products specifications by which quality can be   measured - Maintain an exemplary laboratory notebook describing   experiments, experimental procedures, and   research results - Prepare project reports that document research - Responsible for evaluating existing hair color   products for improving product performance   and/or cost savings - Communicate Hair Color Research progress to Hair Color   Manager via weekly reports - Maintain current awareness, through reading the   technical and trade literature of innovations   and new formulary in hair color.
Credentials / Knowledge / Skills Preferred                                                                 - BS or BA degree in Chemistry or Biology - Five to seven years experience in a cosmetics   chemistry laboratory in an R & D environment - Three to five years experience in formulating   oxidative hair color - MS degree in Chemistry with at least 3 years   experience in formulating oxidative hair color - Advanced PC skills highly desirable
