Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Responsible for researching trends through field-work,
reading of professional materials and
attendance at national, regional and state
professional meetings
- Responsible for making product recommendations to
Director of Marketing and Editorial groups
- Secure/analyze all competition for a product line.
Synthesize, compile and distribute information
for both Editorial and Sales staff
- Develop comprehensive marketing plan for products and
coordinate with Editorial, Research, Promotion,
Advertising and Sales staff for implementation
- Recommend new ideas, major points and direction for
promotion brochures while working with
Promotion Department to ensure effective
targeting of projects and implementation
- Recommend to Directors of Editorial, Production and
Marketing Departments product packaging ideas -
including suggestions for both components and
sample boxes
- Provide input on pricing recommendations and work with
Inventory, Editorial and Sales staffs to
develop reprint correction recommendations
- Serve as National Exhibit Manager for national
exhibits in product area and coordinate the
production and distribution of all sales
presentation materials
- Responsible for designing product training schools and
assume responsibility for initial marketing
presentations
- Responsible for responding to customer letter and
inquiries and assist sales staff in addressing
customer concerns
- Work with National and Regional Sales Managers to plan
major sales campaigns and establish goals and
objectives
Credentials / Knowledge / Skills Preferred
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in elementary
education or a key curriculum area
- Three or more years sales/marketing experience
- Strong verbal/written and presentation skills
- Possess an understanding of market (teaching
experience in field preferred)
- Ability to interact positively with many people on
various levels
- Ability to plan and coordinate multiple projects
- Strong attention to detail
- Willing to travel 50-60% of time
