Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Coordinate the management of all Fleet Operations in
a group of areas to include OTR garage equipment,
rebuild centers and sales fleet. Sales fleet will
include route truck and TDD fleet where applicable
- Manage maintenance and capital and expense planning
for the fleet to include OTR garage, rebuild center
and mobile maintenance
- Responsibilities include training and auditing of areas
to ensure best practices and procedures are in place
in the areas of parts purchasing, fuel purchasing,
vendor evaluation and selection, new equipment planning,
tire purchasing, fleet appearance and regulatory
compliance
- KEY PERFORMANCE MEASURES:
Asset Utilization
Fleet sizing (numbers, types, etc) to meet service
demands
Operating efficiency/quality of traffic garage
- Maintenance of OTR Fleet/TDD Fleet
Operating efficiency/quality of remote
maintenance facilities
- Maintenance of Route Trucks/TDD Fleet
Operating efficiency/quality of rebuild center
Reliability/Operating efficiency of OTR/TDD fleet
Reliability/Operating efficiency of Sales fleet
Fleet Safety/Sanitation
Credentials / Knowledge / Skills Preferred
- Strong drive for results - demonstration/communication
of past accomplishments; accomplishments include
change activities; visible high level of energy
- Four year college degree preferred but not required
- 10-15 years previous technical experience in fleet
maintenance
- National Private Truck Council Fleet Manager
Certification (CPFM) preferred not required
- Experience in large private fleet operation
