Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Manage systems engineering, data communications, LAN,
WAN, and telecommunications functions for JJMI
- Maintain 3 network access points for JJNET, the
worldwide communications network
- Manage all LAN policy and processes, including
subsequent activities to meet policy/process
for JJMI
- Provide leadership/management role in selection and
maintenance of file servers, telecommunications
equipment, database and application software,
printers and other peripheral devices
- Develop and administer policies and procedures,
technical standards, technical methods, and
priorities for the above WAN and LAN functions
Credentials / Knowledge / Skills Preferred
- BS in computer science or electrical engineering;
formal education negotiable relative to skill
set and life experience
- Minimum ten years in business environment, minimum
three years in network design and operations
- Requires all or most of the following:
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Analysis and design techniques
- Programming and job control languages
- conceptual and creative abilities, diagnostic skills
and good documentation and presentation skills
- Requires hardware and software expertise, PC and
mainframe/mid-range computer knowledge with
associated tools and diagnostics
- Sound IT technical background and excellent project
management skills are necessary
- Must be knowledgable in network hardware and
protocols, performance tuning/monitoring,
client/server technologies and
Internet/Intranet networking
