Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Design logical databases and coordinate dB
development; apply knowledge of dB design and
standards
- Recommend, incorporate and deploy modeling tool for
system documentation concurrent with systems
technology
- Determine requirements for data access or creation,
estimate time and cost
- Revise company definitions/standards regarding data
assets to fit needs of business and system
- Create physical description of data elements and
maintain database/data table manual of same
Credentials / Knowledge / Skills Preferred
- Formal education negotiable relative to skill set and
life experience
- Minimum 5 years database administartion, minimum six
years information management
- Must have all or most of the following:
- analytical and problem solving skills
- analysis and design techniques
- programming and job control languages
- translation of logical to functional
- hardware and software expertise
- good documentation and presentation skills
- must have PC and mainframe/mid-range computer
knowledge
- requires expertise in establishing and enforcing
standardized methods and tools, and training
both business and technical communitywith tools
to support company's standards
