Product Manager
Location: California
Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Define and
develop the support services to complement the new technology solutions for the
Service Provider market. The solutions span the following technologies: Packet
Voice - Voice over IP, Voice over Frame/ATM.
Scope out the support needs required for these products and technologies
to be successfully launched, procure resource commitments and development
approval, and drive the implementation through cross-functional organizations,
sales and field marketing teams.
Responsible for: producing requirements document detailing the service
support strategy for Packet Voice, feature contents, target markets;
establishing close relationships with the BUs and defining services roadmap
aligned with the BU product roadmap; responding to strategic RFP/RFI;
developing a delivery strategy through partners; developing pricing (with
finance), market forecasts and launch timetables; supporting the Solution Managers
to define the packing scheme and feature sets; ongoing measurement of product
acceptance. Interface with the Business
Unit to align the support service program with the product evolution. Also have
need for a Product Manager with strong technical background in optical
networking, SONET, WDM, and ATM networks.
Credentials / Knowledge / Skills Preferred:
Requires
BS, MBA or equivalent plus 5 years of Product Management experience in
telecommunications industries. Must
have experience in launching a product, setting pricing and business models,
with strong technical background and understanding of new technology and
industry standards. Understanding of customer experiences and deployment
challenges to support new technology solutions a plus. Must be results-driven with good business
acumen. Must be able to interact with customers, management and peers with
ability to influence them. Requires
excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work
independently and drive issues to closure.
