Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Determine long-term corporate-wide information needs
and strategic development
- Acquire and integrate hardware including
client/server, mainframe, mini and micro
computing applications
- Insure integrity of corporate data and proprietary
information
- Act as highest level interface with nontechnical user
functions in determining overall information
systems approach
- Provide support to company by facilitating the
implementation of systems and re-engineered
processes to make the firm more efficient and
enhance quality service
- Keep Representatives and system users informed on
systems projects or issues on a regular basis.
- Develop, prepare and present programs for national
level conferences
- Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and
contractors, maintain contractual agreements
and supervise the deployment of vendor products
and contractor responsibilities and tasks
- Establish and maintain relationships with
representatives, including selecting and
utilizing a key user task force
- Keep current with industry and technology trends (keep
technical skills current)
- Assist the President in making strategic decisions for
the company and the department
- Prepare, update and maintain strategic, tactical, and
business plans for the IS Department, including
updating the departmental budget and reviewing
financial plans with the CFO
- Insure appropriate legal and compliance review of all
information systems related contracts, user
systems and documents
- Report on new system changes and projects to the IS
Steering Committee for approval and status
monitoring
- Review, evaluate and insure that departmental critical
success factors are current and properly
aligned with strategic and operational
objectives
Credentials / Knowledge / Skills Preferred
- Microsoft strategy environment highly preferred
- BS required with concentration in Information Systems
preferred, MBA stronly valued
- 10+ years in IS related field, 5+ years in IS
management experience
- Knowledge of the financial services industry,
broker/dealer experience a plus
- Strong background working with methodologies to
perform systems projects tasks
- Understanding of business/information processing
evaluation techniques
