Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Responsible for expatriate administration work for one
or more clients, depending on the size and
complexity of the engagements.
- Responsible for interfacing with client HR, the
expatriate, and any other functions within the
client's organization that have an impact on an
assignment
- Must thoroughly understand the programs and procedures
that support each client's international
assignee population
- Work with client HR management in home and host
countries to set up assignment, arrange for and
coordinate external and internal services such
as cross - cultural, visa/work permit, physical
relocation, destination services, and also
coordinate the transfer to the appropriate
international payroll and benefit systems
- Conduct pre-departure orientation to explain
assignment programs to the expatriate
- Assist in the analysis of any exceptions, from a cost,
equity and consistency perspective, with the
final decision being made by client HR and line
management
- Assure that updates in status are appropriately
implemented in the compensation arrangement and
provide explanations to expatriates on the
impact of changes
- Obtain all elements of compensation so it can be
accumulated and reported for tax purposes or
for management reporting purposes
- Must be involved in process reviews for existing or
potential clients to document their procedures
or processes and make recommendations for
improvements
- Advise clients on policy trends and help them develop
policies or programs within parameters of the
client's philosophy and culture
Credentials / Knowledge / Skills Preferred
- Bachelors degree required, Masters degree preferred
- Three years experience in Expatriate Tax required
- Strong leadership abilities a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills a plus
- Effective administrative and organizational skills
