Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Responsible for supervising the New York Accounting
Function: These duties include the preparation
and review of journal entries; preparation of
account reconciliations; and the preparation of
month-end reports
- Supervise the invoice control process and assist the
Accounting Manager in the annual year-end audit
- Responsible for the development and implementation of
procedures and controls in coordination with
Manager and the Accounting function
- Responsible for ensuring that the operating
departments are aware of and are in compliance
with the company’s accounting policies and
procedures
- Assist the Manager with staffing, training and
supervision of the accounting staff in
accordance with all Company and E.E.O.C.
personnel policies and regulations
- Assist the Manager with the implementation of the new
financial accounting system as directed by the
project team
- Responsible for meeting all deadlines related to the
Supervisor’s area of responsibilities as well
as assisting the Manager in meeting
departmental deadlines
- Responsible for special projects and tasks as assigned
Credentials / Knowledge / Skills Preferred
- Degree in Accounting or Finance required – CPA
certificate desirable
- Prior management experience in accounting and the
airline industry including direct supervision
of staff
- Excellent people skills with the ability to motivate
individuals and promote
cooperation/coordination between the accounting
and operating departments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized individual with emphasis on accuracy
and timeliness
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills with
spreadsheet and work processing software
- Ability to work additional hours as required
- Flexibility to travel as required
